Dr Andrew Hemmen is a board certified Internal Medicine physician who has served New Mexico since 2008 as an inpatient physician, primarily as the lead hospitalist for the opening and development of Presbyterian Rust Medical Center. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Houston in the last 90’s and then attending St George’s School of Medicine in Grenada for 2 years of basic sciences, followed by his clinical training in Brooklyn, NY, earning his medical degree in 2003. Still wanting more of NYC at that point, he chose Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side to complete his Internal Medicine Residency, which he did in 2006.
Dr Andy has enjoyed living in the Southwest for his entire career and is here to stay. He credits the vibrant air, sun and altitude to his ongoing vigor and physical prowess as he nears 60! No plans to slow down as he envisions 10-20 more years of private practice!
